A study carried out at Varo-Orim, the House of Science, holding that counted-absent (nesen) and not-counted (zva) are separate states that a record must keep apart. Reading articles 4 and 5, it shows how the empty field is written and how any record that merges the two turns the unknown into a zero. The method is a re-reading of actual entries in the archive ledgers.
